Uisce Beatha are a four piece ballad group from Co. Kilkenny, and although still in their early twenties the boys have entertained audiences all over Ireland for the best part of a decade. Trips to Great Britain, Europe and three visits to the U.S.A. have given them a chance to show their talents to a wider audience. Influenced mainly by Irish artists such as The Wolftones, Christy Moore, The Dubliners and The Fureys, Uisce Beatha have also original material which they are not afraid to perform at live shows. Their shows are lively, energetic, and the unique blend of traditional instruments and four tightly structured vocals always leaves the crowd wanting more. The lads have shared the stage with many a famed act. In 2002 Uisce Beatha played Vicar St. along side Finbar Furey, Tommy Tiernan and Apres Match. They had the honour of opening up the Wolfetones act in the Barrowlands in Glasgow in 1999. Shane McGowan, Aslan and George Murphy have also guested with the group. 2004/2005 saw the group performing their show in the Riviera Hotel, Las Vegas where over six thousand Celtic fans turned out in all their glory. Uisce Beatha have four recordings to date, two of which entered the Irish charts in the top 40 position. The E.P. "Tribute to Kilkenny Hurling" boasts two original songs about Kilkenny hurling - "Welcome Liam McCarthy" and " The Legend of the Game" which earned them great acclaim in their own County. The albums " Off the Beaten Track" and " Boyhood's Fire" show the extensive range of Uisce Beatha musical ability. Watch out for more to come......
